Title: Uploading files with an Umlaut in the name
Post by: Christian Stoehr on July 30, 2008, 12:12:43 PM
The system told me to stat a new Topic, so here we go:

I was uploading a file to my system which contained an Umlaut (ä).
The file wasn't shown in the upload folder on my hard drive. I renamed the file (ae instead of ä) and the files was uploaded correctly.
The Main Problem is, that there was no error message for the uploader shown, so you only notice it if you check all upload again.

Would be nice if such files also could be saved correctly, or would be denied before uploading instead of transfering them, without saving them on the target mashine  8)

Hi!
Unfortunately, the same problem with Cyrillic (non-ASCII, win1251CP) filenames when uploading. Log file shows that everything OK, uploading completed, but such files just disappear... It's only one serious problem for me/my friends. Thanks a lot, your software IS fine! :)
I'm using HFS 2.2d now (previous version, AFAIR, had the same bug).
Good luck!
