Title: Unable to open files in web browser.
Post by: bubblegum57 on July 26, 2008, 12:09:44 PM
Hi,

I have looked through the forum for help with port forwarding etc.

I have 2 pc's connected to a router (Netgear). I have installed HFS on 192.168.0.5.

I went to the router page to set up the services in my router, to open port 80. ie TCP/UDP etc

I have enabled this in the Firewall page of my router.

As far as I can see, my router is set up correctly.

I have used an online port scanner, & my main ip 81.146.64.*** port 80 is open.

I have just carried out a self test, that passed, the log in my router saw this as as TCP packer, match HFS1.

Should I be able to see the file on 192. 5 from my other pc 192.168.0.3? I tried to ping it, but it failed.

Or do I need to go to another pc to be able to open HFS browser.

Thank you for any advice. :)

Just read my post.

What I meant was, if I copy & paste the ip etc from HFS ie 81.146 etc into a browser on my other pc, it comes up page not found. Sorry if I didn't make this clear.

Success, although my other pc can't see the web page. My wireless laptop can.

So, I'm happy.

You must use the 192.168.0.5 IP in your LAN. The other IP is for outside world.
