Post by: guest on July 12, 2008, 11:15:39 AM
hi all, i have a problem with the port while using a no-ip dns
i registered a domain in no-ip.com but hfs doesn't allow me to use it without the port :(
just the domain isn't working regardless of whether the option Don't include port in URL in hfs is checked or unchecked
can someone help me? :S

Can you access your HFS with port 80 externally, use self test?
Your ISP may block it so you have to use a custom port?
Have you opened the port on your router?

To use a custom port with a DNS you must connect by adding the port to the URL, same with IP.

That option you speak of just hides the port from the address line in HFS.

And at me writes "DNS update requested for 213.231.29.105: unknown reply: 10" that it can be. ??? The Self test passes normally. Last week still all was good.  :-[

what you mean "without using the port" ?
tell us what is working for you, and what does not.

consider HFS has nothing to do with no-ip working: the embedded feature is just for updating, you can use no-ip without HFS to have any knowledge of that.
so, if no-ip is working for you or not, it should have very little with hfs itself. anyway, provide more info and we may help you.
