Title: Large file download problem - possible solution
Post by: alpayerturkmen on May 08, 2008, 12:26:38 PM
Hi,

I was having a stalling/lock problem with large files (around 700 Mb). I am testing this in a LAN with 100Mbps connection so connection does not seem to be the problem. I can send the same files using Skype, so disconnection is not an issue.

To solve the problem I disabled the timeouts, and removed all the limits. Now it is OK, thought I still do not know the root cause of the problem.
Cheers and thanks for such a lovely tiny software,
Alpay

i can try guessing:
there's a 60 seconds timeout by default in HFS.
you are downloading the file using a browser, and this is downloading in a temp folder. when the download is over, it moves the file on the destination folder, and it takes long, more than the timeout.
test this and let us know if it's right.

Hi rejetto,

I don't think this is the problem as the stalling occurs during the download, not after the download. Also I am using a Mac. I know IE uses a temp folder, but FF on Mac does not seem to use a temp folder.
