Title: Computer crashes on connection.
Post by: CyberPrime on May 03, 2008, 04:07:21 AM
Hia, great program, been using it for a while but when I updated to Build 185 I began crashing whenever somebody (even myself) tried connecting to it thru a browser. I tried downgrading to 184 to no avail. I can get the error (if one is given) upon crash (I have my box set to auto-restart in these events). I don't think its a problem with HFS.

Specs:
Windows XP Home SP2, all updates installed
Compaq Presario Desktop SR1220NX
Default network card.
HFS 2.3 Beta - Build #185, ThunderChicken of Glory installed.

the crash occurs pretty much instantly.

Thanks for any help.

Have you made any other changes to your system except for upgrading HFS to build 185? New firewall installed? Other settings?

If you cant find the source of the problem at all, i suggest a clean install of your computer. Like you said, i highly doubt this is related to HFS alone.

no, no such changes, and I really don't feel like reformating. I will try fiddling about with my firewall settings.

Hmm... it might be a macro error, try a fresh setup of HFS 185 and ToG 4. Also, turn on the logging of events so you can see what happens before a crash. Menu > Debug or something.

You're getting Blue Screen Of Death? Switch automatic restart off and read the message. The offending program will be listed in most cases there.

I guess the option to restart the box in case of a HFS crash does not exist yet. ;D
