Hi all,
i just downloaded HFS today and so far i am very impressed with it. I'm going to be using the software on a LAN. Is there any way of changing the way users access HFS. I want them to be able to input something like h t t p :/ / photos / to be able to access the folders instead of an IP address. Any suggestions would be appreciated, i think it will have something to do with DNS but thats the extent of my knowledge on the matter.
Thanks again
James

If you have the ability to manually or automatically edit files on each computer, consider editing the hosts file in Windows so that each computer on the LAN has an entry to the HFS server.

in a Windows LAN normally you can type the name of the computer.
my computer name is KOMA, and others can access me by http://koma/

Yeah, try Rejetto's idea first. However, I believe all the computers must be in the same "Workgroup" for that to work (you can change the workgroup a computer is in at any time by right clicking on the "My Computer" icon and selecting the "Computer Name" tab and choosing the "Change" button.
