Title: UPnP Media Server
Post by: TSG on January 18, 2008, 07:19:26 PM
I was wondering if UPnP Media Server could be supported one day, i noticed the UPnP support in the to-do.

I have an XBOX 360 and a PS3, and I run Tversity (http://www.tversity.com) to supply those devices with media. Wii, PSP, Pocket PC.. the list goes on for some people. So basically I have 2 servers running out of my PC. I can access my HFS with the PS3 cause it has a browser, but it isn't as fluid as getting the files from the media server options in the XMB. I know many users use HFS to serve within their home network and this would simply enhance this, keeping up with the trends of technology.

The HFS version of this would be very simple, no media conversion or anything like Tversity, just simple file serving over UPnP Media Server technologies. It would probably be as simple as assigning a folder to a Media Server option.

It is a popular technology so i would assume that it is possible with delphi.

Can't wait to see that HFS Logo appear in my XMB :)
