Title: About security
Post by: rejetto on January 14, 2008, 07:17:01 AM
I had a walk on secunia website (http://secunia.com/), as i always heard about them on matter of security.
There i had a look at the status of HFS and similar software.

Easy File Sharing Web Server: 2 unpatched advisories, starting from 2006
http://secunia.com/advisories/28007/
http://secunia.com/advisories/22602/

WWW File Share Pro: 2 unpatched advisories, starting from 2003
http://secunia.com/advisories/12111/
http://secunia.com/advisories/9526/

And they are not free.

BadBlue personal is freeware, but has 5 unpatched advisories, also marked as "highly critical".

Myweb is not free, with 1 advisory, patched.

HFS has only 1 advisory, patched before its publishing (few hours after i was contacted).
And it is open source, free.

Anyway, it is nice to be free to choose ;)
