Title: hfs.vfs.bak ???
Post by: Awesoft on December 07, 2007, 10:57:07 AM
Once in a while (when I restart my computer), the HFS file system is renamed to "hfs.vfs.bak".
I have to rename it to "hfs.vfs" and load it in order to recover the shared folders.

Where is the problem?

It shouldn't be renaming to hfs.vfs.bak but instead creating a whole new file called hfs.vfs.bak which is a backup copy of your vfs, incase your vfs gets corrupted for some reason.

if you have only the .bak and not the .vfs, this mean something gone wrong and the vfs was lost.
but HFS is programmed to make use of the bak when the vfs is corrupted or unavailable.
is there anything new about your problem?
