What language was used to make this program.....FTP protocol..?

Another off subject question, If I make a similiar app, would I be able to have my own email account with no third party domain or subdomains.

Any info helps,

Thanks for the fast response, is there alot to learn. I know this cannot be done in a matter of weeks but is the language Delphi similiar to that of C++.

Off the subject, What would I need to make my email account, along with a website that allows people to upload and download file.

1 Dedicated file server

2 Domain name??

delphi syntax is very different by C++, but most concepts are shared (not all).

i'm unsure what you need for email. but for sure you need a mail server. buying a domain may be a good idea.
but in the end, if you do it on your own computer, it will have to stay online 24h/day, or the system may not work that well.
you'd better buy an online server. here in italy you can get a basic hosting service for 11€/year, and you just need to install a php application to get the file sharing.
