Title: Bug? in the logs. Spam of connection messages
Post by: kwondra.as.guest on August 12, 2007, 05:12:00 AM
I dont understand why this is and would just to only show it once so it doesnt spam the logs. I have this checked under log what:  Browsing, other events, connections, fully downloads, and uploads.

I want it to say connected once until that per closes the hfs site, this is just for one connect:

 24.16.150.XXX:1182{Testuser} Connected
 24.16.150.XXX:1183{Testuser} Connected
 24.16.150.XXX:1185{Testuser} Connected
 24.16.150.XXX:1184{Testuser} Connected
 24.16.150.XXX:1186{Testuser} Connected
 24.16.150.XXX:1187{Testuser} Connected
 24.16.150.XXX:1230{Testuser} Connected
 24.16.150.XXX:1231{Testuser} Connected
 24.16.150.XXX:1232{Testuser} Connected
 24.16.150.XXX:1233{Testuser} Connected
 24.16.150.XXX:1234{Testuser} Connected
 24.16.150.XXX:1235{Testuser} Connected
 24.16.150.XXX:1236{Testuser} Connected

I would like it to just show the first one, or the last one orone of them but not all...preferably like this:

24.16.150.XXX:1182{Testuser} Connected

Some help guys, is rejetto back yet? (not that hes needed for this, just curious)

Thanks,
-Kurt

Welcome home rejetto. Ideas on this?

If its possibly its probably a simple GUI option.

I want it to say connected once until that per closes the hfs site, this is just for one connect:

there is no "connection" as you mean.
the browser may use several connections to speed up things.
the list you get, is the... real connections open.
i know most people are not interested in such list, indeed it is DISABLEd by default.

the other posts have been moved (http://www.rejetto.com/forum/index.php?topic=4819.0).

Works as it should. Apparently this user creates 13 connections, so 13 are logged. Perfectly normal.

What you want is to keep log information more simple, maybe 'Simple logs' vs. 'Detailed logs', am I right?

Okay so if I want it to show the Connection(s) one person is using can I just have it all grouped into one somehow or is it either a bunch of connections shown, or none.

Your first post shows 13 different open connections.  That's why it shows up 13 times in the log.  If you don't like that behavior, disable connections in the log.

connections is something the user doesn't command, it's the browser.
the "connection" log is there mainly for troubleshooting.
i may even do what you are saying, a "grouped" connection in the log, but you would make no use of that. work for nothing.
you are asking to go deeper in technical details, but you don't really want to. ;)
