Title: Problem with firewall
Post by: troglo on July 16, 2007, 09:41:41 AM
I installed HFS, setup the IP address through dyndns.org, modified the router and as long as I don't use the firewall Sygate everything is working well.
When I allow Sygate to work, only 8760 bytes of the requested file are transferred!
Can you please help me?

how did you configure the firewall to make HFS pass?

well actually I let the firewall handle this.
This means, when I started HFS, Sygate asked me if it was allowed to connect to internet and I said yes.
More exactly it says the hfs.exe program has no limitations in contacting any IP adresses and any port.

What kind of rule?
I have permitted everything to HFS (except drinking my coffee and having a date with my wife!)

maybe you had to restart for the changes to your firewall to take effect?

As Sygate uses a device driver (teefer.sys) to do it's work, I would say, rebooting is the way to go.
