Title: Upload speed
Post by: rithic on July 13, 2007, 04:49:03 PM
Hi all,

Anyone knows how to turn the download performance.  The download speed is around 17Mbps using local LAN.

turn?

Tune maybe?

Mbps = Megabits per second, I think you mean 17MiBps = 17 binary Megabytes per second.

17MiB/s is very good. I've not reached such speeds yet.

well, if you want faster speeds over lan you'll more then likely need faster hard drives as they can only read/write data so fast.

My SATA hard drives are able to read/write >50MB/sec. But as I said, I have still to reach that speed with HFS...

suggestion 1. try disabling your firewall
suggestion 2. measure the CPU and disk usage, see if one of them is at 100% while transfering, that's where you should operate

No I suspect it's the network equipment (the router especially). Anyway, not a HFS problem, it's the same with the FTP server.
