Title: Security?
Post by: tempgal on July 07, 2007, 04:01:40 PM
I set myself up an account and tried to access it from another computer on a different network.  Just by typing in the URL, it gave me access to all the shared files without ever prompting for a user name or password.  What then is the function of the login link at the upper right-hand side of the screen when ANY user already has access to the files without logging in?

My assumption was that access would be limited to the specific accounts that I had set up.

creating an account doesn't make any protection.
this would be true for a very simple protection system.
you need to bound the account to a folder or file.

i hope to make this clearer in the future.

Not sure what you mean by "bound the account."  Are there instructions somewhere?

Thanks.

PS.  You are incredibly prompt with the responses.  That is awesome!
