Seems to work now for folders.  Would it be possible to make it work for sub-folders as well?

Well, the archive feature works with a root folder.  No problem there.  However, if this root folder has subfolders and you only want to use the archive feature for just one of these subfolders and not the root folder, you can still enable archive for that subfolder but the file archive option doesn't show up on the screen for that subfolder.

maybe you are testing with an empty folder.
empty folder has no "archive" link. it makes no sense for it to have it.

If you have a hard coded link, you can archive download folders that you haven't set to archive download allowed.

Yep, confirmed, resaved vfs, and this is what happens.

Also I found the template symbol.

[archive] translates to %archive% for those interested.

I found the problem.  The subfolder I was testing in had a diff template which was causing the problem.  Removed the diff template and the archiving feature is working as it should for subfolders.
