Title: A suggestion - Auto Ban IP Address if (n) connection attempt in (k) seconds
Post by: Tigger on June 04, 2007, 12:52:16 PM
My server is "being attack" by download managers such as "Flashget".

I have turned "Anti-Leech" option on but it doesn't helps

May I suggest a new function?,

The server will auto ban IP addresses which attempting to connect over 100 times per minutes

,for 1 hour or something.

I think that something similar like this has been requested before...

If you have a firewall why dont you just add the offending ip address to the blocklist until something gets implemented into HFS.

To limit the amount of connections per IP address, you could do the following:
  - Go to...  Menu -> Limits -> Max Connections from Single Address -> and put the max number of connections you would allow per IP.

Or - Since they are using a download manager set to connect multiple times to get many pieces of the same file they are downloading, you could do the following:
  - Go to...  Menu -> Limits -> Max simultaneous downloads from single address ->  and set it to 1 or 2.  I use this method and it takes care of download managers quite nicely.
