Title: "don't consider as download" don't work
Post by: Alons0 on March 16, 2007, 02:46:48 PM
I have one folder siteop where there are some files (like java scripts, logos, etc...). I mark the folder and i paste the names of the filesq which i don't wanna consider as download. Look at:
Code: [Select]
logo4.gif;clock.js;java_klappe.js;clock.swf;manson.gif;bgflag.gif;overlib.js;minus.gif;plus.gif;After that this files are downloadable and displayed in the log. Please fix the problem.

Want to restrict downloads? Well, it's the wrong option then. Right click on the file/folder in HFS and select No Download to restrict.

Don't consider as a download: mask... means these files will not trigger the download counter.

OK.
But, when the masks are put in the field for dont't conider, why the files are displayed in the log. I mean that when files are in don't consider, there is no need to be displayed in the log!

Sorry, that option is just for that.
Indeed, the Log doesn't log only "downloads" but many other things.

You need the "Don't log" feature, and it is already in the to-do-list.

--TIP--
if you need to specify ALL files in the folder, you don't have to type all file names. * is enough.
if you need to specify all javascripts, then *.js will do.

OK thank you. Ammm "Don't log" won't show added files in the log, will it? Will they be in totals statistics?

will it be possible to there's  "don't log" for a whole folder, because with mask for files it's so uncomfortable. I mean that i would add masks of 400 files. And so i wanna "don't log" for a whole folder

YES, this is something i have wanted fro a long time, it annoys me when my HFS logs the stuff in my 'template' folder, if i could stop the whole folder logging it would be awesome.

mask of 400 files? file1;file2; ... file400?
you don't need to. You can just input * as a mask, and it will be valid for all files.
If you are unsure on how file masks works, search the full guide.

Also it will be good "don't logged" folder never get tray icon (like don't consider but for a whole folder)

the tray icon is related to the "don't consider", so just use that.
as above, input * in the "don't consider...mask".

i'll try to make it available soon
