I have a Modem and a Router both with firewalls
the only thing i get is where you are supposed to enter the password for the modem then a 404 Not found message.
Im not 100% sure im doing this right but i put it this way
Modem
84.xx.xx.xx:83
TO
192.168.10.1:82
(the routers address)
Router
192.168.10.1:82
TO
192.168.10.2:83
(my comps address)
The whole network havent been solid, maybe its cos of the double forewalls <_<
Enyone know this better then me?

I have never had any luck with this type of setup, my mate had almost identical problem.... he got sick of the setup also faulting other internet connections and decided to buy an all in one router. since then he has had no problems. Maybe try turning off both firewalls? then run a test, cause your port forwarding seems to be correct.

yes, disable firewalls and "self test", so you know if the firewalls are actually the problem.

Ah thank you ^^ but im currently leeching on my dads connection so he wont be happy about turning off firewalls, but what his nooby self dont know wont hurt xD

In my own router, i can open DMZ (demilitarized internet zone) to a single internal IP... this basically turns the firewall off on that IP address... this way your father still has his firewall and you don't.... i don't even need to port forward HFS with this feature turned on...

I have seen that there are often problems for the configuration about port forwarding.
I would like to give a small contribution even if I think I'm a lucky man (at least as it regards routers, switchs and so on).
Before buy a dedicated tool (modem+router or router all in one) I recommend to all those that own an old PC (more it is old and more it is better) to try this mini linux distribution.

I have been using it for quite a lot years (first was called CoyoteLinux) on a pc so powered:
PC Cyrix 166 (you don't smile, it is enough)
48 MB Ram (to find these so obsolete ram of memory has been the hardest part)
There is also now a HD recovered by other old PC of 1 GB (and don't smile again).
Configurations particular ANY !!!.

In any case this application have very valid characteristics if whoever uses it it has the necessary knowledges about it
(in few words, it may works easy but also in a hard way if any have a little knowledge about IP,lan; etc).
The last, but not less important thing, is free ;D
