Title: 2.1d #86 External IP Detection Problem
Post by: scyorkie on February 03, 2007, 08:35:35 PM
The external IP detection isn't perfect. My ISP automatically channels all activities through its proxy server, and sometimes HFS detects the IP of the proxy server, instead of the proper one which sites such as showmyip can detect perfectly.

Any possibility that IP detection can be improved? Else, using the embedded dynamic dns functions is kinda pointless if it points elsewhere..

detection is demanded to a list of servers, not to HFS itself.
i lately introduced new servers, i guess some of them may not be reliable.
but your the one i need to know which one doesn't work.
please, test them and report. :)

Hi, these are the ip detection sites that work:

http://www.whatismyip.org/
http://www.melauto.it/public/rejetto/ip.php

mywanip detects two ips, although the first one listed is the correct one. Does that count? :)

Great work on the software I use it all the time ;)
