Title: Suggestion (Web donwload control)
Post by: some1 on December 03, 2006, 10:24:28 AM
Hey!
Loving the software - have been using it for a bit...
but an idea came to me.... so i looked about in google for it - nope, couldnt find it, so i thought - could be a bit of a long shot but here goes....

the idea was:

A Web Based Download manager....

So with a bit of modding, you could log into your file server, and then tell it what addressses to download, and see if it has downloaded yet!?

No?

Just an idea...

Do you mean like external access to your own computer, so you could give the uploads section a URL of a file and it could download to your computer using HFS's upload/download features? Could be useful, but i wouldn't use it.

If I had to take a guess, I'd say some1 is talking about integrating something like NetPumper into the server ...I'm not quite sure.
I would think it'd be easier to tell your friends to use a download manager.

WHY make this work with HFS while you already do it with another software?
how is this job related to HFS ?

>WHY make this work with HFS while you already do it with another software?
becuase the other way, uses java, allows full control etc etc does more than i want it to.

>how is this job related to HFS ?
its an idea - calm down! just thinking that it could be another feature...

Ohhh ok.. Now I get it.

Yeah... I still think it'd be easier to just figure out what all you want to download, queue it up in a download manager and go to your friends house.

I have a feeling that what you're asking for would require all kinds of crazy script and code support that HFS does not have

Yes some1, i understand your need, that's not the point. But what you are asking doesn't seem a "feature" for HFS but a new whole program (maybe inside HFS).
It seems somewhat unrelated to what HFS aims to.
