Title: suggestions
Post by: bubble on November 25, 2006, 09:16:10 PM
Hello, I've just downloaded and tested HFS, it seems GREAT, exactly what I was looking for, but I have a suggestion for the todo list!

Now I have been using this software for about 5 minutes now, so maybe I missed it, but a search field for users to quickly find a file would be very useful.

Also a SSL option would be nice but I think that's already on your list, so I hope it comes soon.

Anyway, great work, keep it up.

That has been discussed before and should be in the to-do list already.  Until it becomes available, there are many external appz on the net or even web-based search engines (if security isn't a concern to you) that you could use.

That option probably won't be a HFS feature as that was discussed before also.  However, many are  using Stunnel to achieve SSL in HFS.  Works great!  Search the forum for Stunnel for more information.

This is my most wanted feature for the next HFS, i cant wait until people can search my files rather that surf them  8)

it may come in HFS 3.1
i planned HFS 3.0 to focus on the result of the "experimenting" thread on this forum

Search the forum for Stunnel for more information.

Well I initially wanted to avoid that simply to make things easier, if the browser could connect directly to HFS via SSL that would be simpler than having to set up a tunnel. But, that's what I finally did, so thanks for helping me get to know stunnel.
