Title: 2.1 has come
Post by: rejetto on October 17, 2006, 02:23:46 AM
This topic is only to announce, don't report bugs here, dont' ask for feature, just stay in topic  ::)

Folks, version 2.1 has now been declared stable and released to the world out there.

The better way to upgrade is to click on the "check for news/update", then reply yes to the "update?" dialog.

If you want to download it: www.rejetto.com/hfs/?f=dl

what's new
- improved usability
- improved self-test
- comments in external files
- icon masks
- recursive listing
- fingerprints
- diff template
- much more.... see the extended what's new list (http://rejetto.com/hfs/?f=wn)

Hi Rejetto,

Well done. Congratulations on HFS 2.1.

However I have found one problem. People can view the 'File List' even if they are not logged in.

The source file becomes a link cutting.

Please supplement.

A new build has been uploded,
fixing a bug reported here at http://www.rejetto.com/forum/index.php?topic=3796.new#new

Well, it was because of an unreported (and untested) new feature introduced directly in the final version: now 127 characters in the tray icon hint instead of 63.
I'm sorry, I hope this won't cause problems anymore.

i think the best thing to check for updates is to use the command "check for news/updates" inside HFS.
it is faster and take care of the build.

i will add the "Build" on the website.

build #066
+ the "Fully downloaded" event, reports the URL
- trying a fix for the "monolib error: no reply" error
Title: Re: 2.1 has come
Post by: maverick on December 05, 2006, 02:19:44 PM
build #066
+ the "Fully downloaded" event, reports the URL

Requested GET /Music/MP3-1/Mandy Moore/Mandy Moore - Only Hope.mp3
Fully downloaded - 5.35 MB @ 1623 KB/s - /Music/MP3-1/Mandy%20Moore/Mandy%20Moore%20-%20Only%20Hope.mp3

Is this what is meant by the addition to build 066?  If so, I'm not sure why it is needed as the url is already present in the Requested GET ...

Or maybe you are thinking that there could be many log enteries between the Requested GET and when the download completes when the Fully Downloaded log info is presented.  Is that it?

By the way, I have encode spaces disabled.  Shouldn't that be respected in the Fully downloaded log entry?

By adding the url to the fully download log entry, that will definitely increase the size of the logs and I'm sure slow things down by doing so.

Could there be a log option to turn off the addition of the url and still leave the fully download info as it was?

Title: again a 'new' version
Post by: Pussy Licker on December 05, 2006, 09:21:50 PM
It is getting boring to download and install again and again almost daily because of a 'new' build. And still buggy. Do the job right and then release it boy! And then you will make money.
Title: Re: 2.1 has come
Post by: rejetto on December 05, 2006, 10:10:40 PM
(1)
as you can see, all the news are
- bugfixes
- very small features
the only not-so-small feature added is the autocheck for updates.

(2)
i expressly introduced the "build number" system to avoid collecting bugfixes for a month, and letting people have fixes as soon as they are available.

(3)
what's the difference in having monthly updates and you ignoring daily updates?
maybe the problem arise using the "autocheck daily". To solve this issue i may limit so-called "stable" builds to be published once every 4 days and not more.
is there any other problem?

Post by: maverick on December 23, 2006, 11:00:00 PM

Re: "Help" in Edit HTML Template

"Help" has to be updated to include new symbols and sections that have been introduced recently.  The ones I can think of right now are:  sections - [file.xxx]  symbols in the sections they apply to - %ip%  %item-folder%  %item-url% .   There may be more.  Add whatever I missed.

Hi guys, this is a "strange" release, only a little feature requested fulfilled and many renamings.
I studied the problems beginners encounter, and this is only a small part of the solution, but it is something.

testing www.rejetto.com/temp/hfs080.exe

* non-ascii option applied also inside pages
* file menu: now hidden in easy mode: comment, icon, switch to, new link, browse it
* file menu: rearranged and renamed some items to improve usability
details: let download > no download, new folder > new empty folder, copy URL > copy URL address, let browse > browsable
* address bar redesigned

to update your HFS you can download from www.rejetto.com/hfs/ or by using the "update" feature in hfs.

Flynsarmy: don't put "direct" links. i expressly built a load balance system. the server changes at every download.

Really great job this 2.1d#086 ! Well running here ! I appreciate the "Diff template" very much.
Would be nice if it had also this search-function (http://de.geocities.com/x67000x/objets/HFS-Find...Go.jpg) like the main-template.

build 087 will be officially published in 2 days
www.rejetto.com/temp/hfs087.exe
template makers should care of the login behaviour

what's new
+ speed limit accepts decimal values
* show browser icon in address bar
* "Save total in/out" now enabled by default
* don't show the login button if no account/pwd has been set
* renamed: "Don't count as download" > "Don't consider a download"
- updated template help
- UTF8 fix for filename in progress frame (only uploading)
- ~specials (urls with ~) didn't work with folders with "?" in the name
- holding SHIFT and CTRL keys were undetected at startup
- hfs.comments.txt was not used for symbol %folder-comment%
- template import/export support for UTF8

2.1d build 087

1. I don't password protect the root.
2. anonymous users have immediate access to certain folders without logging in.
3. regular users can login and go to the folders they have access to.
4. works perfectly up to build 086.

With build 087, all that is presented to an anonymous user is a totally blank page.  They can't go anywhere.  I hope this isn't the new behavior with build 087.

If anything, shouldn't this be "Don't consider AS a download"? I prefer the old one anyway, it seems a little more professional.

Rejetto, how come 087 does not work with my login page? I load it up and i don't even see the content for %login-link% on the source page? I have tried many things including adding a new user to make it work, but nothing... i hope this isn't the way it is to be from now on... i could use diff template for the login screen according to Giant Eagle, but why doesn't %login-link% work anymore...

Where are my login buttons!! ??????

:P It seems %login-link% has some problems.. but nice build anyway, thnx for fixing the external comments problem  ;D

no longer consider build #087, it has been canceled

what's new on #088
+ Menu -> Virtual File System -> "Reset totals"
+ speed limit accepts decimal values
* clearing the log no longer reset totals
* renamed: "Reset downloads" > "Reset files hits"
* renamed: "Don't count as download" > "Don't consider as a download"
* renamed: "Save total in/out" > "Save totals", also saves hits/downloads/uploads, enabled by default
* show browser icon in address bar
* don't show the login button if no account/pwd has been set
- updated template help
- UTF8 fix for filename in progress frame (only uploading)
- ~specials (urls with ~) didn't work with folders with "?" in the name

Hey guys, in my ToG thread i have a lot of people posting about not being able to import my template with build 88, is this a problem with my template, or with build 88. I can't see how it could be my template causing this, unless it is because the .tpl was created by the older build (using 86 still), but even still, it should just import the code, lol.

This must be a problem with your template.  Build 088 works fine here importing all kinds of templates except your latest version that I just tried.  I had an old version 2 of yours kicking around in one of my dead folders which imported fine.  So the problem appears to be with your newer versions.   Why, I don't know.

Strange.... the only thing i can think of is that the problem arises from the ToG being manually encoded by default as UTF-8 unicode.... because my old template the 'orange/blue template', which was updated using build 86, loads in fine, but it isn't UTF-8. Also ToG has only been unicode for the last few builds. Imports fine now though.

Also importing in HFS v88 the last version of Terayon (1.2.1) there are many problems ...
