Hi All,
I'm having an issue adding a "Guest" account. Currently I have two accounts (mine and a friends). We both have unlimited access to all of the folders in the VFS.
I want to add a Guest account where the Guest would only have access to three or four specific folders (out of all the folders in the VFS). I've tried everything at this point. When I add the Guest account to the root folder (everything) the login works. Problem is, the Guest account then has access to everything, which I don't want. When I specify access to specific or certain folders, the Guest cannot access HFS at all and I get the "Unauthorized" page. I'm using the latest (2.0b, I believe).
I even created a new .vfs file where I loaded only the folders I wanted the Guest to have access to. Problem is, you can run only one .vfs at a time.
What am I doing wrong? Is it an "all folders or nothing" thing? Any insight would be much appreciated.

let say you have folders 1 2 3 4 5, and want guet to have access to 1 2.
after you restrict access to the root for Guest, then you have to select 3 4 5 (all in once) and restrict access to the other account.
this way works.

Hi Rejetto,
Salute! Thank you for your prompt reply. I neglected to say in my post what a great program this is, sorry. It appears that I am doing it the way you suggest in your reply.
The way I added the Guest account is this: I go into Menu, "Other program options" and then "users". Then I create the Guest account with user name and password. I then click "apply". No problem there.
I don't add "Guest" to the root folder (/) because as I said, I don't want them to have access to the entire VFS directory. My other two users have full access. I don't need to restrict access to the root folder for Guest because the other two users are the only ones with access to it. Maybe that's the problem? Maybe I should right-click on the root folder,go to restrict access, and check the Guest account? I'll try that.
Then I go to the folders I want Guest to have access to (example: folder 1, 2, etc). I right-click and go to "restrict access". I then put a check mark next to Guest or I click "All". When I do a mouse over, the yellow "lock" icon appears and it says "access for: user1, user2, Guest". I then click "save options" to file and then "save file system".
When I try and sign in under the Guest account, I enter the name "Guest" and password and click "OK". Nothing happens: the password disappears, and the "Enter Network Password" box remains. If I enter it three times, I get the "Unauthorized" page and the message: "This is a protected resource.
Your username/password doesn't match. HttpFileServer 2.0b

Thank you for your time...
