I can't seem to get the damn thing to work so people can view my webpage through my computer.

If you tell us more about what the problem is, eg error messages etc. it will be mutch easyer for us to help you!
but I think I have someting you can try.
Have you made the portforwarding in your router for port 80, to the comuter that are running HFS?
