Title: FR: MOTD
Post by: jack_2000 on May 21, 2006, 09:13:22 AM
I had an idea
that HFS should support MOTD
and the motd should be in the template as [motd] and %motd% respectivly
so this fits right into this idea too
you can have your motd to have java script /vbscript that will
mesure the time lefto to a specific date and time
and say something
also the motd would be send to the DL manager
like the other file servers do
or the motd will be (uh like parsed thru some thing that will execute the code
and then send the result as a plain text )
so what do you think

i don't understand
1. what this MOTD actually is
2. why can't you put that stuff in the template as it is now

in the ftp protocol
when you login (or around that part) it sends
plain text msg that is the "MOTD"
now a motd can be anything you want it to be
and thus

it can put as a %% thing so people can use it in there Templates ..
