Title: local ip and external ip
Post by: guest on May 13, 2006, 10:15:22 PM
Hi,

I have 3 PCs at home connnected, and local ip worked great.
External ip also worked great, using port forwarding.

The only problem is that I cannot use external ip from within home.
Any workaround?

Thanks

If you have a router, there is not much you can do about it. That's how NAT works.

Some (newer) routers have a feature to let you connect from inside with external IP, try to find such a function in yours.

you can edit your hosts file to make it work
but i prefer to just use the local ip locally
