Title: How to resume or continue files

Hello, how to continue downloads that has been interrupted? For example: my friend starts downloading a file from my server and he lose the internet connection or I close the HFS program. How it is to resume the interrupted files?  And another question, the connection speed doesn't goes at the top of my internet speed. For example I have a 1,5Megas dsl internet connection, and it only downloads (to my friend, that have a 4Megas internet conection and is not running other internet programs) at 35 KB/s. Has this a solution? Thanks.

Use download menager like FlashGet, Download Accelerator Pro /DAP/ Get Right ...... For the speed I dont know ......HFS is not the problem, if you not enable speed limits

You are talking about your download internet connection speed.  However, it is your upload speed that determines how fast your friend can download from you.  (He downloads from you but you are actually uploading to him).   If you have a upload speed of 256 Kb/s for example (256 / 8 = 32 KB/s) the maximum speed would be 32 KB/s before any overhead.  If you have more than one user online downloading at the same time that maximum 32 KB/s upload speed would be shared by all.   With a dsl or cable connection for home use,  the download speed is usually much faster than the upload speed.

just use better software. ;)
IE has no option to resume downloads. FF and Opera have it.

Why do you divide 256/8? What does it mean. Thanks to all. Good luck.

To convert kilobits per second (Kb/s) to kilobytes per second (KB/s).  1 byte = 8 bits.

So you say that isn't the same speed of downloading than uploading. If I have a 1,5Megas internet downloading connection, which is the uploading speed?

Different ISP's usually offer different ADSL connection packages for which they charge different monthly rates.  At one time I had a 1.5 Mbit/s ADSL download connection like you.  The upload speed that came with it was 384 Kb/s but that doesn't mean that is what you have.  Give your ISP a call and find out for sure what speeds you are paying for.
