I have set HFS to port 8080 and forwared port 8080 protocol TCP on my router. I do the self test and it fails saying:
The test failed: server does not answer.
You may be behind a route
I don't know what to do, please can some one help!!!
P.S I am using beta26 and had it working once on beta23, then upgraded to 24. it didn't work and then to 26, where I am now. It may have stopped working before I upgraded to beta24 I'm not 100% sure!

Start over again and set everything back to port 80. Does it work then?
By the way a beta 27 is now available.
-
probably it has nothing to do with the upgrade
-
how would I start over can I just delte everything or should I unisnstall it somehow?
-
menu -> save options -> clear options and quit
it is enough
but i think probably the misconfiguration is somewhere else than in HFS
-
Just change your port back to 80. If it works, then your problem is with the configuration of your router.
-
could changing my PC (which runs HFS) from wired to wireless have made a difference?
-
Is this right for my router? :

Is there any way to host it better?
-
uh? i can't read it!
-
how do you reccomend I host it (the image). Also could wiring my PC have made a difference?
-
a lot of people uses www.imageshack.us
the point is not wireless or wired, when the IP (internet protocol) is working you should notice no difference.

try port 81 ,then set it in your modem settings

Did you forward port 8080 on TCP as well as UDP? Remember the UDP!

Splitoon, the slef test always fails for me too but HFS works perfectly though my LAN and Internet.
