hmm...but there's another problem, I hope the last one (I'm sorry)
When I send the URL to anyone he is able to download it - okay. But then the file is directly opened by any program. If it's a .txt file it's opened by the editor or an mp3 file is opened by Quicktime/WinAmp, whatever. So I thought I'd could use WinRar to put the file in a .rar-file that would directly be opened and then you could take it out of the rar-file on your computer. BUT this .rar-file can be downloaded in the usual way, it's not opened directly so there are 2 questions:
1. Why can I load a .rar-file on my PC and other kind of files (.txt/.mp3/...) are opened directly (so that you can't save the file on your PC)?
2. Is there a way to configure the prog that the people who download my files are able to save it on their PC in every case. So that the kind of file is not important?

Ur problem is around MIME settings but i don't know much about that but i konow that u can usually save the files that are opened automatically
by selecting SAVE AS... on the link!

You may want to try this...this is from a post from Anon earlier that helped me.....
The reason why the MP3 starts playing is because that Internet Explorer was either configured to open your media player or play your MP3 via the Media bar.
To verify that the MP3 is not played by the IE,
a. Click Tools -> Internet Options in any IE window. (or Control Panel -> Internet Options)
b. Click on the Advanced tab.
c. Under Multimedia, make sure Play sounds in web pages is UNCHECKED.

in facts, it is the way YOU told IE to work
it is client side, there's nothing to do server side
i think this is a FAQ, don't you think? ;)
