Title: Why won't external IP stick?
Post by: Love-HFS on September 17, 2004, 12:43:31 AM
I'm trying to get HFS to use my external IP address, but everytime I select it in the menu a few seconds later it will snap back to my internal IP address. The setting just won't stick for some reason. Help? Thanks!

Wow, thanks for the quick reply. I just found your program today and so far am really impressed with it. Have been looking for a super simple one click solution so friends and family can download from me. No need to set up and configure an ftp server & clients (a pain) or troubleshoot why it doesn't work (most of the people I know are PC illiterate).

Quick question; are there any plans to implement encrypted transfers? Would it be difficult to do? I really think this would be icing on the cake.

In any case, thanks for the great program! :)

Encrypted transfers are not possible via HTTP unless you encrypt the file itself. It might be possible via addons but for now, don't expect it. :?

Unless rejetto implements the HTTPS protocol, encrypted connections are only possible via addons etc. But certificates would cost rejetto thousands... :\ Unless it is a self-signed certificate which would not be valid for verification and will cause the browser to give you a warning everytime you load a page. Even with certificates, HTTPS requires many SSL libraries and would need a lot of work.

That's ok, it's still all cool. Keep up the great work. Going to enjoy watching where this project goes. ;)
