tahts hard to answer, as i don't know the cobain backup software, but i don't think it would be possible as HFS save its files and settings to 3 locations

hfs > expert mode > save options

either the ini file, which you manual must select through the hfs gui
or the registy, which you manual must select through the hfs gui
and the main one that is normally selected, save VFS a local file....

My understanding of how your backup program / if it works like this would be:

hfs running, cobain backup deos a file copy - zip archive at that point in time
--when HFS is running with out that saved file, then there is no backup as HFS upon launch may hfs the website files but not its structure nor stuff inside...

so there will need to be some tweaking to the template to auto save a vfs/registy/ini

i did a run about with it saving on close with a script that would close it, hfs upon closing would save the vfs, and start hfs again

i assume when it is offline like that that you could impose a file copy backup...

other wise a more advance user would be need here

thanks so much for that but maybe I wasn't clear. I want to backup to hfs from diffrent locations automatically, without a user having to go to the webpage browse for the file an select upload. is there a way to do this? it will always be the same folder/file uploaded to the same directory on hfs. I tried doing this with cobian backup where I set the destination as the hfs link including directories. but when the program running it tells me it can not create my files. if not a program has someone a script that i could customize to my needs?

Hi!, as far I know, there is no automated way to upload to a remote HFS server, without using the HFS web interface (if I'm wrong, please correct me, but I think it's not possible). May be you need to install an FTP Server, since it's more appropriate for uploading backups. Another option is installing a WebDAV server.

yes, it's possible, as bmartino1 linked another thread about it,
but your backup software may not necessarily be able to work accordingly.
You could always considering running another ftp server aside HFS, and use it for those uploads.
