Title: Drive could not be mapped ...
Post by: sonny on July 09, 2014, 08:54:59 PM
Hi,

HFS is working great in Firefox, Chrome IE, just trying to simplify how I access the shared files.

I want to map a drive X: that will open the shared HFS folder. It should be possible , I have done it with FTP and there is an option for HTTP.

I tried it in XP and Win 7 but always get an error:
From Explorer just wento to Tools-Map Network drive:
X:
http://192.168.1.99:8080/share

tried "connect using different username" or "different credentials" in W7

in WIn 7 there is an option "Connect to a Website that you can use to store documents and pictures" but get the same error
Win 7 error:
"The folder you seem to be does not appear to be valid please choose another"

Win XP error:
"Drive could not be mapped because no network was found."

Thanks for any suggestions

Your talking about mapping a web folder...

I recall a needed windows update for it on windows 7 machines...(webdav...):

you will have to set windows side permissions and hfs user account permission("same user" for both...) to the folder you are sharing. I have completed this once with a windows 7 machine, but had issues "uploading"...

hfs isn't relay meant to host files that way... in a windows mapped network...

if webdav is required, it is not currently supported
