Title: Multiple Servers
Post by: Ganool on September 04, 2012, 10:28:20 AM
Is there no function in this software to use multiple server ??
Multiple server will be needed for load balancing.
I am planning to use this software as my alternative filehosting. For now i am running XFileSharing Pro that hit by 4K-5K simultaneous download/upload, and it has 7 servers to handle the traffic.
I dont know about this HFS stability on handling that much traffic.

There is absolutely no way HFS can handle that much traffic (without a 500GHz CPU) ;)

Yes, we talk about CPU higher than i5 2500K and SSD drive obviously

I've personally never had HFS accept any more than even 50 connections without locking up, but I have a very large VFS and template.

But I don't think it could handle that traffic even stock on any computer.

BTW I have a Core i7 920 overclocked to 3.6 GHz so no shortage there.

The problem is that HFS is only single-threaded.

yeah, thats why i think we need a feature like Multiple Servers. To spread the traffic to many servers, so HFS will not stuck or hang

HFS 2 is not designed for such tasks, sorry :)

HFS 3 should, but it's still in an early stage of development, so don't wait for it.
