Title: HFS domain name in LAN
Post by: Louis on September 01, 2012, 06:20:41 AM
This post may be out of the topic here.
I start a HFS in wireless ad-hoc LAN created by Windows 7 for my friends to share files. But Windows 7 automatically distributes random IPs for clients every time I start network, which makes IPs are hard to remember.
So, is there a solution to use domain names to get access to HFS?

Thank you.
But this is under NetBIOS in windows world. I wonder if there is a easy way to setup a  DNS server or just hijack DNS.

sure, you can install a DNS server and make the machines refer to it. It just needs much more effort.
