Post by: rejetto on August 14, 2010, 10:02:45 AM
did you know?
http://www.opensource.org/licenses/simpl-2.0.html

do you think it's enough to replace the much more complex and well-known GPL? (that i currently use to release my software)

Probably it is a good license, but it is rather difficult to find information about it, apart from the official site.
This licence seems still a bit short, to produce a clear legal framework.
This license seems to priori more "open" than the current license.

I think that in case of trouble "legal", it is "more easier" to assert its rights when the software/code source are under the protection of a license widely used.

The GNU GPL has produced a lot of case law from courts.
