Would only work for IE. But I prefer a real browser.

ActiveX = happy super fun name for 'Plugin' with Internet Explorer. That's my take on it anyway.

Webpages and serverservices should never relay on a specific OS or browser.

There are lot of people out there  that do not use nor like to use windows, and of them who use windows, many dont use or don't like to use ie (not even new ie8: the released beta causes system-crashes with some pages and even system hangs if you dont like to inform ms abaut a crash!) , and even less pages that require activeX.

So i suggest not to use active-X-plode!

yup, a error message simmilar to this would happen to many of us:

Symantec Security Check is not compatible with your Web browser because:
Error 003
To run Security Scan, you must be using at least Internet Explorer 5.0, Netscape 4.5 or Safari 1.0.
To run Virus Detection, you must be using at least Internet Explorer 5.0.

Symantec is equally crappy software. I wouldn't even touch Symantec products with a ten foot pole.

Back in the old days (DOS) Norton's software was good. But that has changed. Nowadays it's only a resource hog.

in the future i will consider using a flash facility.
no activex.
i guess such flash applet could run on the current HFS version, in a template.
