Hi there,
I have been using hfs just to share files with my friends, but some weeks ago it stopped working, locally if I tried the url using the LAN ip address I can see the files and download them, but when another computer tries to view the url they can not get the files, if I give them the direct url for the file I can see when they are trying to get the files, something like this:

09:33:40 192.168.10.231:48521 Requested HEAD /patches/02.0.823.0-19721.tar/
09:33:43 192.168.10.231:48522 Requested HEAD /patches/02.0.823.0-19721.tar/
09:33:46 192.168.10.231:48523 Requested GET /patches/02.0.823.0-19721.tar/
09:33:49 192.168.10.231:48526 Requested GET /patches/02.0.823.0-19721.tar/

I already tried with another version of hfs and the same, I turn off the antivirus (I have no firewall) and still the same.

Thanks for your help!

Welcome jgrojas81 ! :)

192.168.10.231 is a local ip ... your friends should know your public ip (external IP adress) or your domain name (DDNS).

your address is 192.168.0.*
your friend's is 192.168.10.*

it's not very clear if you are truly on the same LAN, unless you set a larger class.

Anyway, it's not clear if your friend can at least see the list of files.
Do they fail just at the download, or even at the browsing of the folders?

and what software is he using to download?

You are right, we are in the same office but he is in another VLAN, he can not see the files even the files when trying browsing the folders.

I thought it has to do with some kind of filter on my PC but from my friendĀ“s PC I can telnet the port where Im publishing the files.

I tried with hfs 2.2f build 155 and with 2.3 beta 280

He tried with IE and firefox having the same result.

you have to solve the problem at a network level, not on HFS
