Instead of downloading archives as a .tar.gz format which nobody I send my archives to appear to want to use, can we possibly change the archive format or at least add an option to download it in .RAR or .ZIP format?  Or are these proprietary and that's why you can't?

Thanks

Not a problem for my users.
All zip/rar programs I've ever used unpack .tar archives ???
Using the compression of zip/rar would slow the download process for several large files
at once, wouldn't it?
I think tar is like a wrapper without compression?

You can archive .RARs without compression too if I'm not mistaken . . . ?

But that wouldn't help me anyway because my problem is that my users seem to only want to use Windows Explorer than therefore can only browse .ZIPs.   Sad
