Hi Guys,

I am new here to the forum, and just wanted to know, whether HFS file server can be used as a commercial file server meaning; will there be any drawbacks ? if there are like 100s and 1000s of users accessing a single local server folder simultaneously converted into a file server by HFS.

Simply put there is a single folder in our on-prem application server containing lots of files where it will be accessible to 100s and 1000s of users, and they should be able to access this particular folder simultaneously can that be achieved by the HFS File server without any drawbacks ? Can this application (HFS) be used commercially / enterprise level ?

Regards,
Sandesh

Hi, welcome to the forum. :) You are allowed to use HFS commercially, but it's strongly not recommended. HFS was designed for home use (with lightweight usage), to share files between friends and family. Anyway, you can use HFS in your business, but at your own risk (the worst that can happen, is that HFS could crash and stop responding). It's recommended to use the latest 'stable' version 2.3m along with Throwback14v6 template. If you want, you could give a try it for a few days and then commenting here if it worked fine or not (to keep this as future reference for other users).
Cheers,
Leo.-

PS: Please edit the title to 'Using HFS file server commercially', since using capital letters mean shouting on internet. :) And you double-posted this same message here (you can remove that too).
