Instructions:
1) Go to HFS, Virtual File System
2) Right click on the Home/Root
3) Properties...
4) Diff template
5) Paste this text:

Code: [Select]
[+]
<script>
$('tr').each(function() {
    $(this).children('td:eq(3)').remove();
    $(this).children('th:eq(3)').remove();
});

It's possible, you just have to edit the template.
(Sorry, I have little time to give you more help)

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Re: User Profile and adding users from list
« on: October 16, 2021, 07:50:16 AM »
A) Import users from an Excel list = Not possible.
B) User group option that enables download only = Probably possible.
(Other users here, probably could give you more details about this)

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Re: Why file system cleared?
« on: October 04, 2021, 08:26:05 AM »
To having a clue of why this happens, it would be nice if you comment this info (useful in any bug/error/issue report):
- What HFS version are you using?
- What Operating System are you using?
- Do you have any Antivirus or File Cleaners that could delete .vfs files?

Same, and my backup got overwritten by autosave :(
This gives me an idea, that HFS could have 'by-default' a daily backup, based on date (with a configurable option to set how many days would you like to keep a VFS backup), with file name using this scheme:
Code: [Select]
MySharedFiles.vfs.20211002.bak
MySharedFiles.vfs.20211003.bak
MySharedFiles.vfs.20211004.bak
(Where '20211004' is today 2021-10-04)
By having that option, if something goes wrong, you could manually restore a backup from some days ago.

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Re: Two folders, two websites?
« on: September 14, 2021, 08:25:25 AM »
Hi!, I'm 99.9% sure HFS is able to handle this situation, using 'HFS.events' and some macros. I did my best searching all the forum, but I could not find whether this was already discussed or not.

I will try to help you, giving a proof-of-concept idea. For example, lets say you have 'example1.dynDNS.com' and 'example2.dynDNS.com', and Folder1 and Folder2.

1) Switch to 'expert mode', pressing F5 inside HFS window.
2) Go to: Menu > IP Address > Custom... and add your domains.
3) At HFS window, press Alt+F6 to edit the 'hfs.events' file, and put the following text:

Code: [Select]
[+request]
{.if|{.match address|example1.dynDNS.com|%host%.}|
{.add header|location: /Folder1.}|
{.if|{.match address|example2.dynDNS.com|%host%.}|
{.add header|location: /Folder2.}|
{:{.disconnect.}:}
./if}

WARNING: The contents of that "hfs.events" were NOT tested by me, and that code may not work at all! (I'm just giving an idea on how it could work). That's all I can help you (my knowledge about macros is limited). I hope someone else (expert on macros), could give you a hand (meanwhile, you can read the HFS's Wiki here). / Edit: I was writing this before 'dj' posted.

Cheers,
Leo.-

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Re: HFS Perfomance
« on: August 29, 2021, 04:34:35 AM »
@Gioronco: to give a proper (and useful) report, please say us what HFS are you using, and your complete system/hardware specs, like:

1) What is your operating system, installed RAM and CPU model?
2) Are you using the default HFS's template or applying some .diff.tpl and .events file?
3) Which is fastest on your system: HFS v2.3m or HFS v2.4.0 RC7? (always make a backup of your *.ini, *.vfs and *.tpl files before doing any test).

900 folders seems to be a low amount of folders to give performance issues (perhaps the problem are your 100 accounts, and the permission rules you applied to them). Your answers are important to know if the problem was recently introduced or not (to know if there was some "regression" on the latest version).

Hi there, guy!
I notice there's a same bug in the default template of HFS 2.4.
Does it work fine using HFS v2.3m? (assuming you are using the latest HFS v2.4.0 RC7). My question is important to know if there was some "regression" on the latest version (if you have time, please test old builds, one by one, like RC6, RC5, RC4, RC3, etc until finding the last working version). Always make a backup of your *.ini, *.vfs and *.tpl files before doing any test.

rejetto-crafted software / Re: My HSG seems not to work!
« on: August 29, 2021, 04:15:56 AM »
HSG comes without support and it was discontinued (it's not developed anymore since 2002, 19 years ago), so, please take it 'as is'. Anyway, if you want, please give more details (because "the URL dialog gets some faults" is not clear enough to know which 'fault' or issue are you getting). Leave more details, like your operating system, and please describe better your problem (but don't expect any new fixes to HSG, since development ended long time ago).

Bug reports / Re: Unable to archive/download all
« on: August 24, 2021, 06:32:06 AM »
Have you solved this issue? (Have you found a way to copy files being used?). Because I've found an easier way to do it, using 7-Zip. Instead of using HFS's archive function, you can macro call 7-Zip using the -ssw switch (which compress files open for writing). You can even make a .bat (batch) file which does the 7-Zip archive process, and then simply call that batch (.bat) using a HFS's macro (exec). Please tell us, if you need more help...

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Re: Is HFS 32bit or 64bit software
« on: August 23, 2021, 01:44:56 PM »
Therefore would like to know if the hfs 2.3m have any problems after the stated above date.
It should work fine. Both Win32/64 NT systems are 'immune' to Y2K38 bug. Y2K38 is a 32-bit Unix problem, since Unix time started on January 1, 1970. Windows NT time (NT time epoch) started on January 1, 1601, allowing a range of about 29,200 years. Sources of this info, here, here and here. HFS internally doesn't use Epoch/Unix timestamp format, so, it should not be affected by this 2038 problem. ;)

Everything else / Re: Today is my 18th birthday :)
« on: August 09, 2021, 09:16:34 AM »

Happy birthday! :)

I share most of your feelings about HFS. To me, HFS means freedom. Running a web server gives people freedom. Sadly, almost nothing really changed about user's web habits over the last 15 years, and most people wants to live an 'easy' life with everything 'already cooked', meaning they will prefer using WhatsApp than Jabber/XMPP, or choose Chrome instead of a more open browser (yes, I know about Chromium, but it still has many ties to Google). Even the classic email is dying slowly. I'm 20 years older than you, and everything seems to change too fast, at least for me. I know you love 'new web technologies' (that's good, and learning new things is even more cooler), but I believe the web should have much more backwards compatibility. Lately, every 3 or 6 months I'm being forced to update my browser, since some websites directly stop working, and they doesn't work anymore with a 'not-so-old' web browser (that's bad). For me, the problem are not the 'big companies' but the 'ideals' (morality) that they have behind. Chrome is redefining the web, as if it owned the web (and nobody truly owns the web). My motto is "Incompatibility means weakness!" (taken this from some web). Two interesting reads about this, are HERE and HERE. And another very good blog article about this is HERE.

About your 18 years, if you have some free time, go outside (leave your room) and have some fun with a girl (invite her to have some walk together), or spend some time with your friends (or go to some new place to meet new people). Have fun and enjoy this day! :)

Cheers,
Leo.-

Instead of using VLC for streaming, you can do it with FFmpeg (like NaitLee said). I've found some command-line usage example HERE. There is more info HERE and HERE. I'm still searching for the perfect small utility to stream video files easily, but all that I've found requires having some level of knowledge (and reading tutorials). I hope you are making some progress on this... :)

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Re: HFS including SSl tools
« on: August 07, 2021, 09:00:36 AM »
@jarod: I've quickly tested THIS today, on a borrowed PC (running Windows Server 2019 Standard, Version 1809, OS Build 17763.1217), and I've just enabled the SSL without any issues (it worked perfectly fine, so there must be something wrong on your own side).

There could be several reasons for this: 1) you could already have Stunnel running or 2) the port used by Stunnel is being used by another process (you can check if some port is used, by using TCPView or CurrPorts). If port 443 is being used, try to disable or terminate that process (or select another unused port). If you can't solve this problem, please try to give us many details as possible (if you want, you can share with us a screenshot of CurrPorts).

Everything else / Re: I can't change the website to English.
« on: August 03, 2021, 11:55:56 AM »
Check the donate button found here:
(it should open PayPal in english)
http://www.rejetto.com/hfs/donate.php

Where did you found the donate button that opens in italian language? (please leave the link, so Rejetto could fix it). By the way, I don't know where are you from, but if you live in Italy, I guess it's normal that PayPal opens in italian language by default. If the problem continues, check your browser 'default locale', for example for Chrome, check this:
Code: [Select]
chrome://settings/languages
Don't be afraid to ask for more help, in case you need it...
I'm just a normal user here, but thanks for donating, it helps to keep HFS alive. :)

Congrats for the enthusiasm you have on 're-writing' HFS in Python. I guess you spend a lot of time doing it. I'm currently posting this using an old PC (so, I can't test it), but I'm happy to see your work (you even have a website for it!). Keep the good work! :)
