Is there a way to create a master account so they have access to all the individual folders I have restricted access to? I hate having to select all the folders and set this one user up to be able to see them all.

If you want only one user with a 'master account', then you have to do 'what you hate': give this master user access rights to all te individual folders.

But if you want to have several users with a 'master account', then define master-group, give then access to all folders to this master-group. Then if you want to add a new user with master privileges, make him member of this group and all is done!

If you 'hate' to select all the folders to set permissions, maybe you are really lazy  ;), or you should think of giving your virtual filesystem a different structure (more trees, less folders bound to root)

your computer has no brain - use your own !

Why don't you just press shift and select the top and bottom folder, that way all the folders in between will also be selected. It should be quite fast even with 1000 folders.

hold CTRL instead of SHIFT.
SHIFT would select every folder in between the ones you select.
just one click for every folder you need. when you selected them all, you can give the permission with a single step, and it will apply to all those folders.
