HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Resolve DNS

Sorry if this has been requested before, but it would be nice to have an option to resolve the domain name of a connected user.

As some may have noticed &RQ v0.9.4.17 crashes on start on HT (hyper-threading) enabled systems. I just found a workaround for this, which I though I'd share with you.

The solution is to make sure &RQ only uses one CPU. There is a tool called imagecfg that can be retrieved from Windows NT (and higher) support cds or from this URL: http://www.robpol86.com/misc_pgs/imagecfg.php

Download and put in your windows/system32 folder and start a command prompt, navigate to your &RQ dir and type:

imagecfg -u "&RQ.exe"this makes &RQ run on only one CPU.
then type this

imagecfg -a 0x1 "&RQ,exe"this sets &RQ to use cpu 0 (you can change 0x1 to 0x2 to use cpu1 instead)

I thought it could be useful to coordinate development in this forum, for instance we could have a list of features to be implemented and by whom. It will be a while before any working version is available, nevertheless feel free to add your wishes in this thread.

This first post will consist of status of current plans and will be edited by me when due.

First.. I would like to know, what parts should &RQ consist of. I can think of a few myself.. but they're open for debate. It's good to divide code into different assemblies, for instance one dll for icq protocol, another maybe for themes management and so on..

List of assemblies:
1. Core functionality, helper functions, plugin management etc.
2. Instant messaging protocols (one per protocol preferable)

As you can see the Message has the text "Message" in it.. I think this screws up parsing of type 2 messages.

&RQ / Can &RQ scale pictures?

Hello rejetto,

A quick question. I have some png:s in 150x150 pixels that I want to use in a theme. Is there any way to tell &rq in pics.ini to scale the whole picture to say 16x16 or do I have to do this manually?

I don't know exactly how it works, but I guess you could report spammers (and if a certain number of reports come in the uin will be removed? can someone with icq lite check this?), I know &rq has good spam protection, but this could be useful. As a button in chat window "report message as spam" or similar.

I have (always) had this unchecked, and today I tested it, clicked "save" and then retrieve and it became unchecked again.

I tested Miranda today, for the first time it didn't crash on me as previous versions have. It has lots of good features, as you may know. File transfer and serverside contact lists and plugins for lots of things.

But what is missing...
* tabbed chat window (this I think unique &RQ feature is gold)
* unified history, you could log things with plugins to different log files, but with &RQ all events can be logged through one interface
* lack of info about users, like good client recognition
* I cannot have the birthday balloon every day
* No invisibility exploit

Feel free to add your own reasons

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / weird behaviour

I added shell context menu for all and now when I double-click mpg-files, HFS starts. The default behaviour is Play, not HFS. Seems this only has affected movie files (mpg, avi) where Play is the only menu item above HFS. Is this a windows xp bug or hfs related at all?

that you didn't miss my feature request for user online event

when person comes online.. display (well optionally) the ip and icq client he uses in the history field.. also log this (which I realize is going to screw up the log format, but I'm sure you could think of some smart way to extend it)

example:

2003-07-21 13:22:03, objetto is online (&RQ 0.9.4.16, IP:X.X.X.X) [status icon]

well.. only show ip if known

I usually go to the forum by clicking the thread headers from the main &rq page. Sometimes a thread is more than one page, couldn't you make it direct the link to tha last page then?

&RQ / Problems with invisibility exploit

It seems I get invisible to ANY user when checking automsgs whether they're away, online, invisible or offline. I.e. the +invisible or -visible is sent but not altering the invisibility/visibility lists.

Also.. when the client uses ICQ2GO an ICBM Error (family 9) is received telling you that the client doesn't understand msgtype 2. This is shown in &rq as if the contact is offline (when invisible).

Please fix this soon as we cannot check automsgs anymore.
I'll revert to .12 until then.

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / feature request: download directory as zip file

once in a while I run hfs to share mp3s with friends (mainly ones that don't use ftp) and they might want to download a whole album (which is in a directory)...

could it be possible to add a feature to zip a folder on the fly and delete it when the download is complete?
