HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Afraid.org dynamic Dns updating with HFS
« on: September 19, 2011, 08:47:05 AM »
Hi,

i am writing this after ****ing up 2 routers...  :'(

the main reason for this post is if its possible to update a domain with afraid.org dynamic dns provider?

now u may ask why are the routers being dragged into this? well i readsomewhere on the net that DDwrt supports updating of afraig.org dynamic dns service, and i tried to flash ddwrt to my routers and succeeded but failed to get connected to my ISP...and screwed up the router by trying to flash back the orginal firmware...well thats my loss...

but i really need to used afraid.org as it is hosting my paid domain for free....unlike dyndns.org which is asking me for money for dydnds pro service.

can someone please teach me how to configure HFS to update my domain at afraid.org/

thank you very much

HTML & templates / Request : Mobile template for Nokia 5800 Please!!
« on: February 08, 2011, 06:58:20 AM »
Currently i am using TOG as my default template for HFS, however it take a lot of memory and GPRS charges on my mobile phone..

i tried to use the iphone template but its not really working good on my Nokia 5800,

Sorry i hate to bother the great teams of Template builders behind TOG, Live ... but if some can help me make a simple template for my HFS so i can read the text stories i have on my site. bascially the stories are converts from PDF to TXT and some .html, there is not special requirment for download upload button or anything else....just a list of files on my site and i simple click and the window opens to show me the text in small fonts so that i dont have to scroll so much...

many thanks for your help.

regards

as i supposed.
those files have a unicode name and are not currently supported in HFS, sorry.

i have an idea on how to add support for them, since they are in a real folder with an ansi name, but i'm not sure and anyway i don't know when this will come. Don't hold your breath.

damn! and i almost made a world record for holding my breath lol  ;D NP...just needed to tell you this...i will simply rename the files to something like 1 2 3

cheers

router & port problems / Re: hfs & mikrotik
« on: October 19, 2010, 08:23:50 AM »
thats probably a router limitation... what you are trying to do is probably best done with an active directory server....but you can still try getting a very very expensive cisco router set internal and external bandwidth limitations.

router & port problems / Re: Can't Connect Externally!!
« on: October 19, 2010, 08:19:46 AM »
i am guess your router is not forwarding external requests to your PC.

first check your router if its forwarding to your PC.  the easiest way to setup a router to forward everything to a PC on LAN / internal ip is to setup a DMZ but it not really safe.

so what you should probably do is use portforwading. say if you lan if is 192.168.1.100  then you can set the router to forward port 80 to your PC.

also there is an option in HFS which describes from which address the HFS accepts connections...probablyt exploring that might help you.

good luck

Hi, did multiple search on forum and google but couldnt find a definite answer...

can someone please tell me how to run 2 instances of HFS on the same machine..

thanks!

please drag&drop one of those unreadable files in the "virtual file system" pane of HFS, and post a screenshot of it.

so sorry for the late repy,

please find below the attached picture

nope, i tried all the templates....default, live TOG....

just in case u are wondering the language is Japanese, and the HFS hosted OS is windows 7 64 bit, which can read the japanese language named files...
