HFS ~ HTTP File Server / I am back with a problem
« on: August 13, 2006, 07:09:13 PM »
Hey Rejetto I am back and now I run an internet portal where customers must sign onto my gateway to get internet access and pay for it. The program I use is Antamedia Hotspot www.antamedia.com well anyways I use HFS as I have been for some time now since the PSP came out pretty much, and my problem is, is my customers must use FireFox to use my gateway if they have Mac/Apple computer (a bug in Antamedia) and in order to get them FireFox I offer it strait from my server instead of putting the insane amount of mirrors FireFox has for there browser to download on the website in a white list which works fine. I do it on an internal address, and after I believe 2 hours the HFS times out and doesn’t respond and my customers can’t get the file. Do you have any idea why this is? A while back when I was using it for music RSS feed on my PSP it never did this anyone else have same problem?

Server IP: 192.168.3.1
Antamedia Port: 80
HFS Port: 1692

Did you make a separate RSS file for your external IP that’s how I did it I have a LaNRSS and an InternetRSS file so that when I am home I use the LaNRSS file and when I am over the internet I use InternetRSS file also you cant have your RSS file or music files that the RSS file uses under password protected folders on HFS here is my server http://SiYscomp.cjb.net hope this helps you. :^^:

router & port problems / Help! Cannot get my server on the internet!!
« on: January 09, 2006, 04:06:43 PM »
Or you can just put the computers IP address that runs the HFS outside of the NAT so it will be outside of your router firewall and you shouldn’t need to set any ports. You will need to set up a software firewall on that computer if you want any measure of protection id say windows firewall will suffice. Don’t use DMZ your computer wouldn’t have internet access that way.

Are you using the external IP or the internal IP for the computer that has HFS on it when you are at home?

When I am inside my network with my PSP I use my routers assigned IP (http://HTTP://192.168.2.2:8080) and I can use my network. When I am over the internet I use me http://HTTP://siyscomp.cjb.net to connect to my server.
