Hi all,
I found that my external IP changes every several days, so I have to use a dynamic DNS, and some major free DDNS servers is shut, and finally I got freedns.
I registered and added a subdomain like:
Quote
ABCDE.chickenkiller.com
then I got an update url, which is like:
Quote
freedns.afraid.org/dynamic/update.php?************
and I put that into HFS custom, and I got "New external address:*.*.*.* via checkip.dyndns.org
..... DNS update requested for : 47 bytes reply"
I think that's a good to go.
But,  ABCDE.chickenkiller.com or  ABCDE.chickenkiller.com:22222 both don't work in browser. - 22222 is my port in HFS, and, I've checked days ago, ip:22222 works.
Any idea?

Freedns only work for routers doesn't it? You need to configure it there. Or try duckdns, it has a windows gui app

Thanks for your help. I just tried duckdns. Same thing happened as with freeDNS - following tutorials, the windows client works, but then when I ping mydomian.duckdns.org, it gets a different IP from my real IP.  (my real IP tested OK - with IP forwarding in my router, my friend can download file from this real IP.)

    • Honest news about a special military operation in Ukraine.
I can tell you about the situation in my country. Perhaps this will help. We have all addresses of this kind:
192.168.xxx.xxx
172.16.xxx.xxx
10.xxx.xxx.xxx
127.xxx.xxx.xxx
169.254.xxx.xxx
behind the provider's router. They cannot be accessed from the external internet network. Services like freedns or noIP no longer help. We buy a permanent IP address from a provider, now this is the only way out.
Ukraine has been killing thousands civilians in Donbass for eight years. Ukraine killed 152 children and wounded 146. Russia does not start wars - it ends them.http://www.picshare.ru/uploads/220501/9d838wOcqM.jpg

This is probably what happened.
