...idea of "stealth mode", I'm a little doubtful...
Changing both delphi-date entries (in the ini) to 99999.99999 seems to make the server silent.  Of course it would be better to use encrypted security so that silence is not especially required.

Although updates are good, sudden unannounced changes are never acceptable for servers.  And, it would be better to notify before change (a console pop up, "click ok" notice prior to implementing a change by remote).

Since we don't have a notify-before-change function, then I was very glad to hear of a way to shut off potentially disruptive unplanned changes.   It is vital to make sure that the server-operator is present and aware of changes, before the change is implemented.

I'd like to vote "yes" for a stealth mode feature because it seems more straightforward to have it in the menu.

do you know the options?
MENU> Updates> Auto check every day
MENU> Updates> Automatically
MENU> Updates> Delay update to serve last requests

if the first is not checked, the update is only done manually
when the second is checked, the automatically update is only carried out when all the user requests are finished (which does not mean that there is no more user online, because there is no timeout to define a time of logout)

it is possible to play with the next update date and the above parameters by using events script
{.set ini|update-daily=no.}
{.set ini|update-automatically=no.}
{.set ini|delayed-update=yes.}
{.set ini|last-update-check=99999.99999.}

the modified parameters remain functional as long as hfs is in operation, to continue the modification, finish by saving the configuration if necessary

{.save cfg.}  optional parameter is  one of file, registry, global registry

by default the parameter is same as defined in MENU > Save options >

to alert the admin  use this macro to have a tray balloon

{.notify|
LAST TIME={.time|when=43892.105588831.}
CHECK AUTO={.if|{.get ini|update-automatically.}|yes|no.}
CHECK DAILY={.if|{.get ini|update-automatically.}|yes|no.}
{.play|tada.wav.}
|timeout=360|type=2|title=HFS UPDATE.}

... I see some posts at the moment about "external services", which disappear or are edited again and again ... until the answers given by those who take the time to answer them become incomprehensible. The "ephemeral" posts are a bit annoying from my point of view.
...I know what you mean. I thought I was the only one who realized about those actions ('some user' was editing, and editing, after editing all day, just to edit only a couple of words, then removing then, and making some edits again, and it was a crazy thing to keep up with that)...
I apologize for that!
And, I was not aware there was a broadcast per each.  OMG!!!!   Thanks for mentioning that problem.
I am usually ill-spoken (not on purpose).  So I get worried and edit until it seems like I might have said the right thing.  Even if it takes all day.

The flipside of this problem is that it makes code run fast, because all-day or all-month edit is just enough to do that. Note the sturdy WatchCat script, delivered same day.
But the pedantic practice apparently went badly with forum-post documentation.

Again I apologize for the inadvertent broadcasts.
The goal was actually less words, not more; and, I surely did fail at that.

Don't worry, I will tell you my method to post comments on the forum (specially when they are long): I usually write my posts offline on a notepad before publishing. Then, I review that everything makes sense and is well written (I check for typos), and when it's all OK, I post it online. On rare occasions I edit my posts. But like I've said, don't give too much importance on how you write here (this is not a newspaper or a book, the important thing is writing something that can be understood). Other users (like bmartino) also had this problem in the past, and it's fine (most users here use English as second language, so you don't have to write a perfect English). :)

 NEW:

-  At the request of several users (Danny, Leo, etc):

Main Menu > Debugging options > Disable external services (not recommended) > Deactivate IP_SERVICES_URL

Main Menu > Debugging options > Disable external services (not recommended) > Deactivate SELF_TEST_URL

- Correction of 2 small bugs in hfs: no more duplicates in 'Customized Addresses' and when deleting a DDNS account, the password is now also deleted from the configuration.

I downloaded the version you provided in win10 and enabled https, but the content could not be displayed. Then when I used it on the original win2012, it directly displayed an error: Stunnel failed to start

@jarod: I've quickly tested THIS today, on a borrowed PC (running Windows Server 2019 Standard, Version 1809, OS Build 17763.1217), and I've just enabled the SSL without any issues (it worked perfectly fine, so there must be something wrong on your own side).

There could be several reasons for this: 1) you could already have Stunnel running or 2) the port used by Stunnel is being used by another process (you can check if some port is used, by using TCPView or CurrPorts). If port 443 is being used, try to disable or terminate that process (or select another unused port). If you can't solve this problem, please try to give us many details as possible (if you want, you can share with us a screenshot of CurrPorts).

Unless you are on 32-bit Windows, you can replace stunnel included in hfs with the latest 64 bits version available for loading there
