on the website you can find a "preview" of 2.4
https://rejetto.com/hfs/?f=dl

i don't remember if 2.4 offers logout, maybe yes.
I stopped working on hfs 2 long ago, and started HFS 3.

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Re: help
« on: March 23, 2023, 01:44:24 PM »
it's not planned, a bit out of scope, as HFS is not meant as a general web server.
HFS 2 programming language is that terrible thing I invented at the time.
HFS 3 programming language is javascript, non php.
HFS 3 supports plugins, tho. I don't exclude someone could make a plugin to support php.

sorry, you can't.
It's not designed for this kind of task.

surely you need to get a better certificate first.
decide to buy, or try https://letsencrypt.org/

consider HFS 3, as it has https and you don't need stunnel. Also, it's a much better software IMO.

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Re: How can I increase download speed?
« on: February 27, 2023, 10:54:25 PM »
you can't do that on the admin-panel, yes, but you can share the destination folder and give (to you) upload permission.
Folders upload is supported this way

I dont see exactly how one closes out the other? Cant we combine both?

technically yes, but when the staff is very limited, like 1 man, you hardly get everything you want :)
LMK about hfs3

HFS is not a focused on performance, but on easy of use.
My advice is to try HFS 3 and see if it's any better, as it is a totally different technology https://github.com/rejetto/hfs
I'm no expert, but I suspect you don't reach the full bandwidth you have with a single connection. Maybe speed-tests use multiple connections.
What i'm saying is that possibly multiple downloads from your server will make a higher total.

and for those who need it: never confuse Mbps, that is megabits, with megabytes

i know a nasty inflation can be a huge problem.
i really hope the best for you!

about the forum, i like posting on github because i can easily paste parts of screenshots immediately. It's so convenient when you explain something.

i'm just commenting to let you know what I think, i'm not angry or sad :)

there's no need to be "intentional".
Doing this stuff is very consuming, sometimes painful. So, you don't do it if you don't like it, and I don't like working on version 2.
This already explains it.
Of course you are free to think there are more reasons to this, against the good old principle:

Bug reports / Re: Hfs.exe - Maulware via PUP
« on: February 09, 2023, 10:33:04 AM »
adware: there's no ad in HFS
PUP: "potentially undesired program", if you are willing to use it it's not undesired, am i right? 🙃

« on: February 09, 2023, 10:30:28 AM »
don't you have any idea of what is the difference between failed attempt and successful attempt?
consider we are not looking at you when you are doing it, so it's not easy to guess.

anyway, if I were you I'd be using HFS 3, that now supports uploads. I'm not working on version 2 anymore.
