Every connection's displayed speed is very not steady. Top speed is twenty times higher than my normal speed.

But I think the really speed is fine.

if somebody want to do bad thing,he still have other http and ftp server with stealth mode to use.

Anything has two sides. Just like gun,it can kill people and also guard people.

In case of misuse, HSF can have a option to select or diable stealth mode by user. This is only for normal user,No tools can entirely prevent the deliberate misuse.

Sometimes I want HFS auto start and be invisible from the desktop ,so I wish HFS have a option to start up with stealth mode to hide tray icon.

And can turn the Stealth mode off, select HFS from the Start / Programs menu  or other way to restore tray icon.

Hi ,maverick.  I think ["In Limits -> try -> "max connections from a single address" so HFS can limit the connections to what you want it set at"]  is not very well to slove my question.

Because (A)"max connections from a single address" and (B)"max download simultaneous from single addr"  have different function.

Normally,  the former shouled be larger than the latter , this can ensure every user can brower web page when he downlode file with a large connections (even larger than A or B). So I always do ont limit (A)

Thanks a lot to rejetto and his HFS.  and sorry for my hard english.

when client download a archivable folder (~folder.tar?recursive) with many simultaneous  connections,

hfs can not limit the connections ,even set limit at "max download simultaneous from single addr" and "max simultaneous  downloads". limit isn't work with archivable folder links.

but the limit is work well when client down a single file.

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Re: about a search function workload
« on: August 22, 2007, 07:25:17 AM »
how many?
consider that searches will be sequentials and not concurrent.

maybe we will have a clearer view when the function will be available.

we can study some bbs's search fountion.
Admin have the right to set the interval of two search from same ip.

e.g. set time for 15 seconds.
search will be refused if interval of two search is less than 15s.

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Re: "addresses ever connected" store in hfs.ini
« on: August 21, 2007, 03:55:56 PM »
:)Up till now,I havn't thought this is a problem.

I just think that the use of hfs.ini is store the config.  The function to store ip addresses isn't suitable for ini file.

So I want those ip addresses to store in a single file.

Or add a option to disable this fountion(show, count, store ip address).

Sometimes I needn't it  because PC has few memory, cpu and I prefer to have a lite hfs.

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / "addresses ever connected" store in hfs.ini
« on: August 21, 2007, 10:49:29 AM »
After hfs running about one week,The amount of "addresses ever connected" will be very large, maybe more than 2000.

This make hfs.ini too fat.  I Think that the ip addresses stored at a single txt file will be fine.

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / The time for download speed graph.
« on: August 16, 2007, 02:41:11 PM »
when mouse point at download speed graph, dieplay "pink=out yellow=in" .I think the the time show at the position where mouse point at is necessary. We can lookup any moment's speed.

yes,i just think the more usage is  caused by hfs when it has many connections.

how did you measure the CPU usage of the connectio list?

Sorry, I should not use the word “observe”  ,all that is my subjective judgement for "updated uninterruptedly"

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Suggestion:the option to disable connection list
« on: February 22, 2007, 08:01:27 AM »
I wish hfs have a option to disable connection list, just like "log to screen" can be disable.
Connection list is be updated uninterruptedly when file is download.
i have observed that "updated uninterruptedly" can make more CPU Usage. so i suggest to have a option to disable "show Connection list".
