Title: Access granted!
Post by: PolarFox on September 02, 2007, 06:05:58 PM
I think HFS will be very flexible with adding access(rule) to files or folder , for example:
---rewriting file "A" for account AUSER
or
---rewriting ONLY file "B" for all accounts (or for guests(or guest accounts))
(like Easy_File_Sharing_Web_Server_4.0 )

that's mean all files and folders (also accounts) being with rules.
In future - adding rules for creating folders and deleting files also.

For example, that feature creates hosting server from HFS :)

PS also rules might be for speed - downloading, uploading and much more!

What ideas? :)

Am i missing your point or are you referring to the 'Accounts' option available in HFS O.o, cause it is already there, and has been there for ages.

first:
Menu -> other options -> user accounts

then:
Right click on a folder -> restrict acces -> select your user

If this really is what you are looking for, then have you even tried HFS?

i think what he talking about adding rules like rewrite, delete, adding folder files based on user accounts. ive tried efsws before, i know that app offer that service. maybe he asking for hfs to also have that kind of feature.
if im not wrong, create folder and delete file already on to-do-list (http://www.rejetto.com/hfs/?f=todo). replace file can be done if we disable "number files instead overwriting" in upload menu.

He is trying to say that he wants to be able to set rules for accounts.

Not just, for example, limiting speeds for the whole server... he wants actual account options that allow him to set restrictions. Its a good idea. I would like the account screen to be able to add/remove files, folders, set speed limits and upload restrictions from direct options for each account.... i think everything we are talking about is in the to-do...

file permissions? that's the common name :)
in the future there will be a sharper control on account permissions.
