HFS ~ HTTP File Server / wiki needs update
« on: August 20, 2007, 06:36:29 AM »
With all the new features that have been added to HFS in 2.2a, I think its time that we started updating the wiki on how to use them.

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Alert on connection
« on: July 20, 2007, 08:34:02 AM »
I didnt know whether to class this as a bug or not so you can move it if you wish.

Its good how Hfs flashes the taskbar when a new connection is made but should it flash the taskbar when hfs is the active window. I just dont really see the point in that as you can see the connections list. But more to the point when the taskbar flashes and hfs is the active window if you keep using hfs it doesnt return to normal and you must click on it which then minimises it.

I can see 2 possible fixes for this
a)The taskbar doesnt flash when hfs is the active window.
or
b)The taskbar flashes when hfs is the active window but when you perform an action in hfs the taskbar returns to normal.

What does everyone else think of this?

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / archiveable [inherited]
« on: July 12, 2007, 08:28:52 AM »
I was playing around with HFS setting up the TOG and noticed that if the root folder is archiveable then all the sub folders are aswell. I dont see any problem with this except that I couldnt manually set any of the sub folders to not be archiveable.

Bug reports / Uploading in root folder
« on: July 09, 2007, 08:24:31 AM »
I come across this while transfering some files to my mums computer.

if you hold shift when starting to get the default settings, then goto http://127.0.0.1/~upload the upload page will appear even though no upload settings for any accounts have been set.

And when you upload something even though it fails you still fully upload it which could really hurt someones download quota over the internet(meaning the server receiving the file/the client uploading it where their isp counts uploads).
Code: [Select]
5:51:00 PM 127.0.0.1:2003 Upload failed, Not allowed: ipfilter.dat
5:51:00 PM 127.0.0.1:2003 Uploading ipfilter.dat
5:51:00 PM 127.0.0.1:2003 Got 8509 bytes
5:51:02 PM 127.0.0.1:2003 Fully uploaded -  12.14 MB @ 6687 KB/s
There is quite a few bugs just generally uploading to the root folder i have found.

Sorry i havn't got much time to explain in real good detail so i hope you understand.

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Log Files
« on: April 22, 2007, 04:40:00 AM »
after reading a couple posts about log files it got me thinking of somehow getting per user logs. so instead of have just the normal log file with everything. you could also have a log file for each different user that logs in. that would make it alot easier to see which users have done what since theyd have their own log file.
eg. i connect to the server and log in, all my actions are recorded to the normal log but also a log called foggy is created with just details of what i have done.

im just throwing around some ideas so please post any comments
